A hospital in Paris. It's busy and filled with healers doing their job. ---------- Glenn and Tree arrived at the hospital, and checked in - Glenn had made herself an appointment earlier, counting on herself not to just back out of it. Then, she sat down with Tree to wait. "Alright, this is it..." she said, softly. |

"Yeah, this is it," he affirmed, hoping that he was saying the right things. "They're really good here, the Healers. I mean, Blu told me that, anyway. I wouldn't know." He took her hand in his, gently stroking it with his thumb. "You're going to be fine. We're going to be fine." |

She nodded and leaned up to kiss him. "I love you," she said, replying to what he'd said just before they'd left for the hospital. "We're going to be fine, of course we are. Why wouldn't we be?" She had to be confident, or else she'd fall apart. |

"Exactly," he responded, slipping an arm around her shoulders. He had noticed a pair of Healers eyeing them and tittering, but didn't mention it to Glenn. Tree couldn't imagine how stressful and difficult getting an abortion would be for Glenn and didn't want to let anything make it worse for her. She was really the best thing that had come into his life for a very long time and... nothing was going to hurt her. |

Glenn nodded, and turned around in his arms so she could lean back against him. This put her facing the same way he was, and she saw the two healers - one of whom met her eye and quickly looked away. She turned back to Tree, the surprise evident in her face. "Are they...talking about us?" she asked, softly. "Tree, I don't want them talking about me - do they think something's wrong with us?" |

He kissed her forehead softly and then her lips, stroking her cheek. "Glenn, they can see how in love we are. They're jealous. So they're whining to eachother." He was worried about her. How were they going to get through this? What would it feel like and... would it hurt her? Emotionally? Physically? He couldn't, of course, voice these fears. So he instead simply held her a little closer to him. |

Glenn smiled at him. "You really think so?" she asked, looking up at him as she leaned against his shoulder. "Is it that obvious? That we're in love?" She didn't have a problem with that, she just wanted to know - she didn't completely believe him, but she really did appreciate the effort to make her feel better. "Tree..." she said, very quietly. "I'm scared." |

"I hope it's obvious," he responded, kissing her softly. "I don't care if the whole world knows. Hell, I would like the whole world to know." He knew that she was scared. He was scared, too... but he knew that they were making the right decision. It was scary, but she couldn't throw her life away, even for a child. "I know. Me too," Tree said quietly. "We can do this, though. Together. I'm not leaving you." |

She smiled. "I love you, Tree," she said. "I don't care who knows it as long as you do." That was the truth - she really didn't care if the whole world knew, or if no one knew. She didn't need to advertise it. "I know we can get through this - I still want to, and I do believe you. But...what's going to happen to us? You say you won't leave...but what if this changes things?" She didn't doubt him - not...completely. But maybe he couldn't know what was going to happen. |

"Nothing will change things," he assured her, laughing. "I love you. And as long as you still love me, we'll be together." It was true. Tree couldn't imagine any sort of a life without Glenn, now that she had walked into his. She had brought him out of the hermit-like, depressed life that he had led for so long. He would never, ever be able to thank her enough for that. |

Glenn felt reassured at his words. She still wasn't positive - but it was really nice to hear it from him. "I guess we'll just play this by ear?" she said. "Because I'm not about to stop loving you. So you'd have to change first." She brushed her hand against his shoulder gently, hoping he'd know that she wasn't totally serious. "Alright...is it almost time? Will you...be coming in with me or should I go at it alone?" |

"I don't think that they intend for me to be there," Tree answered apologetically. He wanted to be there to support her, but he was quite certain that it just wasn't allowed. |

Glenn nodded, holding his arm until a kind looking Healer came out and called her name. She kissed Tree, stood, and left with the woman to go to another room. A good hour or so later, the healer came back out to where Tree was. "Mr. Moone," she said, an edge to her voice. "You can come see her now." Glenn was laying in a bed in her room. Her cheeks were covered in tears - it was...over. All over. |

"Glenn," Tree said softly, seeing her. She was distraught- he could understand why, too. He sat next to her on the hospital bed, holding her as gently as he could. He didn't even know... He couldn't imagine what she had been through. She was probably the strongest person he knew. He didn't know what to say. |

She shook her head - she couldn't even say anything, just cry. She sat up, leaning into his arms and closing her eyes. She could already feel this...emptiness inside of her. That baby - the baby she didn't even know the gender of - was gone. And there was no getting it back. "I'm sorry..." she managed to say, very quietly, although she wasn't sure what she was apologizing for. |

He kissed the top of her head softly, trying not to cry with her. "Don't apologize," Tree said shakily. "You've not... You haven't..." Words weren't even... okay. They had kept their child from being born. They had killed it. But they had to. He told himself that, over and over. |

She nodded, and kissed his cheek. "Alright, I won't," she said. "But Tree...we...I can't believe I just...let them do that. I feel so awful." She knew words were pretty pointless right about now. She couldn't even comprehend what they'd just done. She had to think about it - it was still weird, to think that the baby had been there and now all of a sudden it...wasn't there. "We weren't ready," she whispered. |

"We weren't ready," Tree agreed, gently stroking her arm. "This feels horrible now, but we couldn't have given it the life it deserves. It's... god, Glenn, I just..." His shoulders sagged slightly as he sighed. "I'm so sorry." |

Glenn shook her head. "Don't, please, Tree," she said. "If I can't apologize, you can't either - I don't want you to. We both did it, it was our choice together - and it's done now, okay?" She did her best to smile. "Wanna go home now?" By home, she meant his place - she was, after all, staying there for a few days. She still couldn't believe her mother had been for that - that her mother, out of all the people in her family, was the one to support this relationship. |

"Home sounds great," he answered quietly. "I mean... yeah, home sounds really great." He liked that she had referred to it as 'home'. That she seemed to be comfortable at his flat. |
